Video Game Crossovers

This is secretly what I think of whenever somebody mentions Red Dead Redemption:

Guess it's not a secret anymore.

Happy Valentine's Day!

Favorite part of Valentine's Day?  All the dorky cards/pick-up lines.

"If you were a Pokémon, I'd choose you." "But... I'm NOT a Pokémon." "LOL I know."

Wahahaha.

On a more serious note, I like having a special occasion to remind us of love with all its facets.  Romantic love, brotherly love, charitable love, friend love.  If you're stuck feeling "forever alone," man up!  And cheer up, because I love you!  Just... not THAT way ;)

Week Five: I'm old...

Some coworkers and I started reminiscing about the days of dial-up internet and brick-sized cell phones that only let you speak to people.  It made me feel old.

It also made me feel impatient, since I take speedy internet and text messaging for granted now.

Week Four-point-five: Pet Peeves

Pet peeves.
Pretty much everyone has one.  Heck, I have a bunch, but I'm not going to list them because that's not the point. Thing is, pet peeves are terrible to have.  So what if someone does this tiny little thing that bugs you?  Get over it!  And yet, it's SO HARD to do.  I find that I often justify my annoyance at someone by saying, "UGH, that's my pet peeve!"  My pet peeve, as though my ownership of it justifies its very existence.  If I can't bear to ignore it, I try to change that person's behavior instead of my own.  It's like I'm protecting and nurturing my pet peeve like Giovanni does his Persian.

Mine!
I'm learning to get over my pet peeves, but don't push your luck; annoyance at mix-ups between your/you're, there/their/they're, and it's/its will probably be the last to go.
[This drawing was done last week, and even intended as last week's post.  I just was too busy having an awesome visit to Pomona that I forgot to upload it.]

Week Three: The Hunger Games

The only point I really hear debated about the Hunger Games is whether Katniss should be with Gale or with Peeta.

Most women I know (myself included) say "Peeta!  Definitely Peeta!  He treats her right and is completely devoted to her and blah blah blah."  It's interesting to look into this issue more critically.  It's easy to make the decision for someone else; Katniss is a fictional character, and no one's life is going to be critically altered by either decision.  But who would you choose?  And I don't just mean "Gale or Peeta?"  Think about the people in your life who can epitomize Gale or Peeta.  Which one do you choose: your first love and best friend, fierce and temperamental; or the one who has always been devoted to you, strong and reliable?  It's tougher to make a decision, isn't it?

From what I've seen, Peeta wins the polls.  But in real life, Gale's the one who wins.  Thoughts?

Random thought

Sometimes I feel overwhelmed.  I take a look at my dog and his carefree existence and wish I could have that.

But then I remember how much more fulfilling my life and relationships are.

Week Two: ALA Recap

A brief, illustrated synopsis of what I did at Anime Los Angeles this past weekend.
[Not including the time spent at the Volunteer window.  Which was most of it.]
